André Várkonyi
begann zunächst als Autodidakt zu trommeln. Nach langen Aufenthalten auf Jamaica und Kuba vervollständigte er sein Wissen und Können bei zahlreichen Lehrern.
Seit über 20 Jahren leitet er Trommelkurse mit großem Erfolg und spielt bei den Percussiongruppen "Angklung", "Guem", "Sanza" und "Phoenix-Percussion-Project".
Andre baut außerdem Trommeln in den verschiedensten Formen und Größen. Diese Trommeln sind ausschließlich aus heimischen Hölzern gefertigt und mit natürlich gegerbten Fellen der Firma Edlauer in Enns, Österreich, bespannt.

first of all taught himself how to play percussion. After spending a considerable period of time on Jamaica and Cuba, he continued to hone his knowledge and his skills with the help of numerous teachers.
He has been holding highly succesful drumming courses for over 20 years now, and plays with the percussion groups "Angklung", "Guem", "Sanza" and "Phoenix-Percussion-Project".
Additionally, Andre builds drums in a whole variety of shapes and sizes. These drums are made exclusively from native woods and feature naturally tanned skins crafted by the company "Edlauer" in Enns, Austria.
